My Story
Hi, I’m Stacy — a mom, advocate, and community‑minded problem solver.
My commitment to public service began long before I ever considered running for office. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with individuals with mental and developmental disabilities, supporting them through some of life’s most challenging moments.
I’ve helped families access essential services — SNAP, Medicaid, housing assistance, and energy support — and I’ve seen how hard it can be for parents to secure the stability their children need to thrive in school.
Those experiences shaped my belief that strong schools are at the heart of strong communities. I understand the pressures families face, the barriers that can stand between a child and their education, and the importance of meeting students’ mental health and developmental needs with compassion, clarity, and respect.
My Family and My Why I’m running
Like so many parents in Baltimore County, I’ve navigated the challenges of supporting a child with unique learning needs.
My family’s story is at the heart of why I care so deeply about stability, communication, and support — the same qualities that helped me navigate some of the most challenging moments of my life as a parent. School was one of the first places where I felt safe and able to grow, and that stayed with me. As an adult, I’ve seen how hard our educators work and how much families rely on our schools, including my own.
I didn’t enter this race because of a single crisis or issue. A community member I respect encouraged me to consider running, believing my calm, steady approach would be helpful on the board. After taking time to reflect, I realized they were right — I can contribute in a meaningful way.
I’m running because I want every child to have a place where they feel supported, and every family to feel heard. I want our schools to stay focused on learning, stability, and student well‑being. My goal is simple: to bring clarity, steadiness, and a community‑centered perspective to the Board of Education so our students can thrive.”
What I Believe
I believe every child deserves:
a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
educators who feel valued and equipped
clear communication between home and school
access to mental health and developmental supports
a school system that listens and responds
And I believe every family deserves respect, honesty, and a seat at the table.
A Message from Me
“I’m running because I believe in the power of strong schools and strong communities. I believe in listening — truly listening — to families, educators, and students. When a community member I respect encouraged me to consider running, it reminded me how much steady, thoughtful leadership matters. I took time to reflect, and I realized I could contribute in a meaningful way.”
“Thank you for taking the time to learn my story. I’m ready to listen, ready to work, and ready to serve our community.”
